The Natural has many great/memorable lines.  Think I liked this exchange best:

Redford:       For years, I've lived with the idea that I could be . . . the best in the game.
 
Close:          You’re so good now!
 
Redford:       I could've been better.  I could've broke every record in the book.
 
Close:         And then?
 
Redford:    And then when I walked down the street people would’ve said:  “There goes Roy Hobbs, the best there ever was in this game.”
