I would say a lot of help by DeLaire and O’Connell
8 assists no turnovers in O’Connell’s first extended play.
Excellent win
O'Connell reminds me of Chris Hernandez. Solid frame, savvy game, ready to play even as a freshman.
Add fearlessness. For example, here:

Agree with the comparison to Hernandez; he showed some good strength taking it to the bucket in that "and one".

Have to admit that when O'Connell subbed in I texted a friend, "cr#p, here comes the dribbling turnover machine." Delighted I was so wrong. He was terrific. Nowhere near as quick as Wills/Davis on defense, but he plays hard and improved I thought as the game went on.
I agree that DeLaire is improving rapidly. He no longer casts off 3 pointers half the time and is sticking with what works. I expect he will continue to practice 3's and, if he can improve there, he will be a monster next year. Also, he along with Wills and Keefe, has put on good muscle in the last year. The strength coach is doing a good job, methinks. Congrats to him.
Any info re Davis' and Wills' injuries? Our chances depend on both of them returning in near term.
