I agree with MT. The Pac-12 teams have played enough games to show the NCAA tourney committee what they can do. The top 4 teams are all ranked in the top 15. USC is 5th in the Pac-12 and is unranked and 7-6 in conference play, so they don't have much of an argument. The chance that playing the conference tourney would result in a cinderella team winning and picking up an automatic bid is very slim. There is a greater chance that a player on one or more of the top 4 conference teams catches Covid and tests positive as a result of participating in the conference tourney. IMO, the risk/reward calculation weighs against holding the conference tourney.
