We typically start the game with confidence, moving, cutting to the basket, making nice passes, taking 3s when available. And our defense is active and effective. Then somewhere in the 3rd quarter we lose it. We starting making long lazy passes, then turnovers, we stand around with no more cutting to the basket, and are afraid to take a 3 as the other team starts a comeback. And things somehow get worse in the 4th quarter. I wish we could play the 4th quarter with the same intensity and effectiveness as the 1st.
Generalizations are too easy.
Stanford played the 4th quarter pretty well against OSU, no?
For our loss to Colorado we had 17 in the 1st and 14 in the 4th.
For our loss to UCLA we had 20 in the 1st and 14 in the 4th.
For all games we had 19.6 in the 1st and 18.3 in the 4th.
And our opponents had 12.1 in the 1st and 14.8 in the 4th.
