The team is gradually getting back to full strength after not getting proper training through the fall. Brody Malone was originally going to sit out this year - I don't know if it was because he wanted to focus on the Olympic Trials or because of the pandemic, but he changed his mind and competed this weekend for the first time this season. Brandon Briones and Colt Walker also competed for the first time this weekend. Riley Loos competed last week at Winter Cup and qualified for the USA national team by placing second. He did not compete for Stanford this weekend. Hopefully just resting. Blake Sun did not compete this weekend either. Even without Sun and Loos Stanford scored a 412.5 against Cal today. That's the 3rd highest score of the year by any team (Oklahoma 414.5 is the highest in the first meet of the year when the judging is easiest.) and I think this team easily scores 420 barring injuries with everyone competing. OU and Michigan are the competition for the national title (maybe Nebraska).
