It doesn't bother me. Ayton won POY and freshman of the year a couple of years ago, and it's happened twice before that. I think of the different awards as a Venn diagram, and some years the circles will overlap.
I once coached football and wrestling. We would always try to spread out the awards to give as many kids as possible some recognition. I never felt that the MVP resented not winning some of the lesser awards. I believe that awards motivate players. The more players that get awards, the more motivation. Maybe it's different at the conference level, but I can't help but believe that the more players that get recognized the more likely other players will choose to join a team in the conference or stay on a team in the conference rather than transfer to a team in another conference or declare for the NBA draft.
