Ruth was an amazing athlete. You don’t the reach the level of success he achieved by being “fat and slow”.
As has been mentioned before, triples are a product of field size more than anything else. The record holders are mostly early vintage players. Heck, even Triples Alley at Oracle Park has been reduced in size.....
