If Oregon State loses to Colorado, I would think that they would get an NIT bid over Stanford. Their NET ranking is only 97, but I don't think that would be as big a factor as the Beavers' late season run and four Quad 1 wins, which equals Stanford's total. Also, Colgate (!) has a NET ranking of 8, so NET can't be the be-all-and-end-all. Plus, as I mentioned before, it's entirely possible (likely?) that more teams will drop out of postseason play and open up spots for the next in line.
If Stanford gets a bid, Coach Haase said that he would welcome it. I don't think he would say that if he feels that he has lost the locker room. Or maybe he's in denial.
I'm still on the fence as to whether or not the NIT would be a good thing for Stanford given the current state of the program.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
