Stanford School of Education is highly ranked but it does not focus on teaching. Rather it is known for research and curriculum development. If your passion were teaching, it’s not where you would go. Teach for America  puts  talented young people in the classroom right away. Its critics, and I am not one, note that there is minimal teacher training associated with the program. Full disclosure: I have been a modest financial supporter of Teach for America.

Linda Darling Hammond, a big wig at the Stanford School of Ed, is also one of the most noted critics of TFA. I'd imagine if you were strongly considering TFA, you would not also be strongly considering Stanford School of Ed.
