I suspect it was intentional to launch the 3 pointers today. It discourages zone defenses.
I watched the Washington State 4th quarter so I missed much of the Stanford 2nd half. I knew we'd mostly have our starters out (Williams 23 min, Lexie Hull & Wilson 22 min; 10 players played 15-23 minutes) I'll have to go watch the recording. Still, I expected more scoring in the 3rd quarter.
Once you're way ahead, the officials (and certainly Missy) call a different game against the leading team.
For a comparison: UConn players played Bueckers 36 min, Westbrook 35 min, Nelson-Ododa 32 min, Williams & Edwards 25 min. So 5 played more minutes than any Stanford player. I guess they need the practice....
Points per 40 minutes in today's games (15+ minutes):
Williams 34.8, Brink 23.5, Lexie 12.7, Wilson 10.9, Jones 15.0, Lacie 30.0, Jump 19.0
Bueckers 26.7, Nelson-Ododa 27.5, Wiliams 20.8, Westbrook 11.4, Edwards 27.2
