Under that thinking, I would have Ashten Prechtel on that team. I don't see how we win that game yesterday without her (though, of course, she did not win it alone).
Admittedly, she did not have eight quarters of top of the line play, because she played sparingly. But her two quarters yesterday had a of immense proportions impact on the outcome of the regional. [Reminded me of that guy from Fordham back in the 1980s who we Stanford fans fell in love while we waited for Michael Jordan's UNC team to play Stanford. That day, and probably only that day, he probably outscored Michael Jordan. For a feat like that, he should have been on the all tournament team. Indeed, he might have been.]
I have no real complaints about the all-regional team, as all members are deserving (though I would have probably had Louisville's and Stanford's point guards as co-MOPs). But a big part of me thinks Ashten Prechtel deserves to have a line on her resume saying "2021 Alamo Regional All Tournament Team."
Maybe she will earn a distinction like that in some future regional.
I'd make an argument for Prechtel as well - she delivered some nails.
BTW - the Fordham player was Jerry Hobbie - I still remember the 6th Man club engulfing the guy after he came back into Maples after showering up. Man, that 83-84 UNC club was loaded - MJ, Kenny Smith, Sam Perkins, Brad Daugherty, Matt Doherty - though it flamed out in the tourney that season. But back to it - Great job, Ashten and let's GO, ladies!
