Pencilling freshmen Ingram and Silva in on the basis of their recruiting rankings is silly.  Did 2020 not teach anyone anything?  They may be good, great even, but until they are actually playing college basketball it is a fool's errand to assume anything about them starting.

If ZW had not had to leave the team the first time, he probably would never have lost his starting spot, and perhaps he would have actually grown into a more dominant role.

Haven't we had 3 freshman starters to kick off the season the last 2 years?

To be clear, freshmen can and often do start, but that’s not something I would count on.  Lord knows we have enough holes that if a freshman is capable, he can certainly help.  Mostly I took issue with OF putting Silva, a highly rated recruit who still has not played collegiate basketball, ahead of O’Connell, who has some starter experience and has acquitted himself reasonably well.
