I think the Refs were on the floor for one reason only. They were there to make sure the game was close. When Stanford jumped out to a advantage, the whistles started blowing. The 18 to 2 difference in free throw attempts is insane. Stanford was called for 17 personal fouls, Arizona 11.
The Refs were not there to make sure no one got hurt, and they certainly were not there to insure a fair contest. When Anna Wilson and Lexie Hull are lying on the floor unable to breathe, when some of the Arizona players looked like male body builders as they slammed into Stanford players, when every Arizona screen was a moving screen, and when Stanford was called over and over again for a foul, something was clearly wrong.
