Got it to 7-6 before Bright got it to 9-6, and she ended up winning 10-7. So it’s a 4-3 win in the end.
Takeaways:
* Gordon and Blake just dominating bodes so well for the postseason. I’m pretty pumped about that.
* I figured Arbuthnott would lose, but I didn’t think she’d get crushed like that. Oof. That’s not the way you want your Taube career to end.
* Geller was far from sharp in her first match back. We need her to be better if we’re going to make a run.
* SARA CHOY, ladies and gentlemen. That was a big time match against a player who’d been outstanding for Cal this year. And we needed it.
* Can’t be too mad at Higuchi for narrowly losing a match I expected her to lose, and I’m pretty excited about her fight in the second set. Having a player like Bright at 6 is a pretty wild luxury for Cal, even though she hasn’t been as dominant there as I’d have expected.
