Tonight's Final Jeopardy answer was: One of the luminaries who drove in the “Golden Spike” in Utah in 1869 was this man who later founded a university.

All 3 contestants answered Brigham Young.

The Jeopardy writers are sneaky clever. The first Final J! during Aaron Rodgers hosting was about Fred Rogers/Mr. Rogers. And tonight the writers poke fun at Aaron Rodgers in his final game by asking a question about Cal's #1 rival.

Perhaps the contestants would have picked up on that theme and made a Stanford guess if they had seen his earlier broadcasts, but Jeopardy is typically shown after a decent delay from the taping so likely didn't have that chance. This may be different now with the guest hosts, but a friend who was on the show a couple years ago had his show screened a few months after it was taped. 

I was in the stands for the taping of a college tournament broadcast many, many years ago. Glad I got the chance to see Trebek in person, he interacted with the audience a lot in between taping the show and made it a great experience. He took questions from the audience and this was soon after the celebrity jeopardy parodies on SNL were big so he had some fun with that.

Ken Jennings and Rodgers have both been ok as guest hosts. Not sure anyone can come close to filling Trebek's shoes though.

They need to find another Art Fleming...  I didn’t see Rodgers, but have some taped. Thought Jennings was solid. Katie Couric bearable, but barely.  The worst was Dr Oz, who was unbearable.  Would feel the need to add little tidbits just to show us all how smart he is.  I see that F——-Ng Joe Buck (his official name as any Giants fan will tell you) is on the list and wants to be the permanent host. Nooooooooo.

So with no Art on the horizon, I think Dave Flemming should take a shot.  He’d be great.....
