There is plenty of supply of vaccine in Santa Clara County.

As far as I can tell, anyone in the country 18+ can get a vaccine if they have a car, if they are willing to go to a mass vaccination clinic, if they have schedule flexibility (to go on a weekday), if they are physically capable of waiting in line outside (which in CA is usually a beautiful 70 degree day), and if, if necessary, they can drive a little bit outside their immediate area.

I have checked the SCC vaccine signup website. Every day since at least Saturday in SCC, hundreds of sign up slots are available at one of the SCC mass vaccination clinics. You can check in the morning, afternoon or night, and any time you check, one if not most of the clinics have slots available within the next 4 days. Usually, appointments are available the next day.

Given the incredible job so many other Stanford teams did when vaccine wasn't even available yet, I am disappointed in the baseball team, in the AD, and the university.

According the SCC Vax website, in SCC, 140,000 appointments have been scheduled during the next week, but they have 240,000 doses on-hand. There is no reason that students or student athletes on the Stanford campus should not have been vaccinated yet, assuming they want it.

I know that even if the baseball team had been vaccinated last Wednesday, they still could've been infected or exposed. But I am still disappointed in them, though I suppose, all the information hasn't come out yet (what if it's a Pac-12 snafu, like what happened to Davis Mills, though this seems unlikely).

Just got off the phone with my kid, who is a starter on the team.

Here are the facts: after UCLA, two tested positive. Both are now negative.

After ASU, two more tested positive. The team tested again today and are awaiting results. If there are no more positives, the team should play on Wednesday.

A majority, if not all, of the team has had their first dose of the vaccine.
