Prior to last night, Stanford's RPI was 22 and we were in the running for one of 16 national seeds, which would have given us the opportunity to host a regional. Our RPI is down to 29, and a loss to lowly Pacific will look much worse than a loss to USC.

Relax? Sure. Frustrated when the team doesn't play to its potential? Absolutely.

Am hoping that the team is royally pissed off and takes it out on the Trojans this weekend.

Since you had mentioned that your son is a starter on this team, I am sure you gave him an earful about yesterday's loss. Hard to come back from a long layoff and be back to where you were before it. The fact that they can still score runs at this pace is a good sign. Pitching was always going to be an issue with the shortened fall. Plus some of these new pitchers who are freshman came from their Junior year of HS to the Pac due to missing out on the 2020 season. 

Covid did not help, and now these players with have to still stay loose but also be weary of the position they are in due to not getting the U of W series back. 

Stanford was never projected to host a regional. I don't think Esquer was banking on that this year. After last years slow start. I am sure getting this team some regional experience is what he was shooting for as the main goal for this team.
