I seem to recall a year when we were pretty darned good on week end series, but lost an inordinate amount of Wednesday games.  I just can't remember what year it was.

Well, it wasn't recently.

Our midweek game records, followed by overall records, for the past few years.

2021:  3-2    27-10   (in progress, one more midweek game vs cal)
2020:  1-2      5-11    (pandemic shortened season)
2019:  8-1    45-14
2018:  9-0    46-12
2017: 10-0   42-16  (Marquess' last year)
2016:  8-3    31-23  (the last year we missed tourney)
Previous years Stanford won 40+ games were 2012, 2008, 1995-2004

Issues that affect mid-week game records include randomness (lots of this in baseball), pitching depth, and exactly how the coach treats those games.
Certainly Stanford has pitching depth issues this year. Though while they've given up 5.6 runs/game in the midweek games, 15 came in one outing.
