I am sure they had their reasons. Not sure why they did not walk the bases loaded for the double play. Baker was the winning run and with the base loaded, could have had the infielders back in DP depth and not in. Either way Stanford playing for a tie, with bases loaded, and one out with winning run at second.
Let them in that game. Cal was flat all game, and how does the closer let their 1st baseman get a double to lead the inning. He is hitting in the very low 200's all year, and what 4 hitter gets moved from 4th to second in the lineup?
This is what I am saying, playing down to the level of your competition. Cal down 4-2, they looked done. 2 or 3 insurance runs from that lead would have put them away!
Just an observation, I guess a charity for Cal. Hopefully this will piss them off enough to come out and handle their business!
