D1 Baseball - 9th
Baseball America -10th
NCBWA - 12th
Collegiate Baseball - 9th
USA Today Coaches' Poll - 12th
RPI - 13th
Stanford is ahead of Oregon in all but NCBWA and USA Today which both have Oregon #9 and Stanford #12.
There seem to be lots of baseball polls.
There are some tournament field projections out.
D1Baseball has Stanford as the overall #9 seed, with UC Irvine* as the #2 in the Stanford regional.
Baseball America has Stanford as the overall #12 seed, with UC Irvine as the #2 in the Stanford regional.
There are several other projections out there, but many seem extremely unreliable - they do things like list teams that didn't make the qualifying list of 20 as regional hosts.
With a loss by East Carolina, Stanford up to #12 in RPI after Tuesdays games.
Hosting and seeding rival South Carolina also lost early in the SEC tournament.
*Stanford took 3 of 4 from UC Irvine at Sunken Diamond in early March. UC Irvine has gone on to a 3 game lead in the Big West - I think they need one win this weekend to win their conference title outright.
I guess now, Stanford will play to host, I am doubting the chances of getting a share of that Pac title with that missed series against UW!!!! Oregon is going to sweep Cal, with they way that game looked yesterday. Cal may be overmatched. Would have helped if Oregon was ending the season against OSU!!!!
If the top 16 (roughly speaking) host, then if Stanford wins one more game in this series, they're a lock to host a regional. Now, if they do something really amazing by winning the next two games, that would give them a great shot of finishing in the top 7 or 8 in the country, thus putting them in a position to possibly get a Super Regional host site.
