Short turnaround. But I prefer day games because we have some home run power. Maybe that is too much of a Sunken Diamond mindset, though. In many places, the wind blows more during the day and M T reports that the wind in Lubbock blows in, not out.

I don't like the timing.
Was hoping for a Saturday start (you noted the short turnaround).
Don't like the idea of playing at noon Pacific, don't like the idea of playing in Lubbock Texas at 2:00 in the afternoon on a day forecast to have a high of 105 F. (Saturday forecast high 98 with increasing humidity, Sunday only 94) (seems the forecast is getting worse than when MT posted, though it could be which site we are looking at).
All three games are set for 2 pm Central.

I do think that Stanford's pitching situation means it is easier to win 2 of 3 in a weekend rather than 3 of 4 or 5. Of course Texas Tech is a better team than past opponents - and went 24-5 at home this year.

Trying to learn something about Tech.

They went 1-2 in the Big 12 tournament, dropping back to back 2-7 games to TCU and Kansas State.
They had no troubles in their regional, going 3-0 with scores of 6-3, 7-2, 8-2.

Hit for power but not super average - kind of like Stanford but moreso.
Were 6 of 9 in Big 12 in BA, but #1 in SLG (0.499). Led the Big 12 and #8 in the country in home runs.
Team ERA of 4.12, 3rd in Big 12.

Their web site seems to list about 100 pitchers. It looks like their usual Friday starter is Patrick Monteverde (15 starts, 7-3, WHIP 1.14, ERA 3.59).
Then it seems a little unsettled. Their other two starters in the regional were Mason Montgomery (13 starts, 5-3, WHIP 1.18, ERA 3.82) and Chase Hampton (6 starts, 4-0, WHIP 1.13, ERA 3.32). Micah Dallas has also pitched a lot for them (10 starts, 4-3, WHIP 1.17, ERA 3.32).
They also have a guy named Brandon Beck...el.
