UCI is a *really* good team, and Stanford beat them 5 out of 7 times this season. I have no idea how good Texas Tech is, but I know how resilient this Stanford team is.
From the photos online, it looks like Dan Law Field is artificial turf. Not sure if Stanford has played on such a surface this year?
As for the weather: it's going to be uncomfortably hot for both teams, but it would be much worse if they had to wear shoulder pads and football helmets. Having said that, the most relevant measure is heat index. My sister lives in Corpus Christi, and the forecast for today's high is 87, but it will "feel like" 101. Today's high in Lubbock is 101, and that's precisely what it will feel like.
I wonder if the NCAA has upper limits on acceptable heat index for baseball? According to weather.gov, 103-124 is dangerous, while 90-103 requires extreme caution.
