Iirc, Oregon has an all turf field. Maybe some midweek games? Seems like maybe USF, but the geezer's memory no longer holds that much info so I can't recall that field, except that I remember houses really close behind the right field fence, which necessitated a high screen.

All turf fields are becoming quite common for Northern schools that play baseball. At my NAIA school, we have a turf infield and grass outfield, which is becoming common at our level. It's a bit surprising that a Texas team would have all turf. But Lubbock is not Houston, so it probably has a somewhat late start to the grass growing season.

Turf fields Stanford played on this season include: USF, WSU, Oregon.
I am fairly sure none of those games were played in 105 degree temperatures.

Simply watching the tournament, it seems that turf fields are becoming common most everywhere outside the west - including University of Houston (reflecting on your example). I find it particularly aesthetically unpleasing when they don't even have dirt, just brown carpet.
