Mostly because southern teams dominate the seedings.
This year's top 8 were from: Arkansas, Texasx3, Tennesseex2, Arizona, Mississippi.
All have lovely weather in June.
The only top 8 seed not to win a regional was TCU. Dallas Baptist won that one (a 3 seed) with 3 seed UVa winning the opposite regional. Now neither gets to host the super regional, as that will be in Columbia, South Carolina.
Friday Forecast for the 8 super regional sites.
Fayetteville, AR - 88 F, 72% humidity
Austin, TX - 94 F, 63% humidity
Knoxville, TN - 81 F, 85% humidity, thunderstorms
Nashville, TN - 85 F, 76% humidity, thunderstorms
Tuscon, AC- 105 F, 8% humidity (110 on Sunday)
Columbia, SC - 85 F, 71% humidity, thunderstorms
Starkville, MS - 84 F, 84% humidity, thunderstorms
Lubbock, TX - 107 F, 25% humidity
At least for Friday, several sites are forecast to be below 90, but make up for it with humidity and thunderstorms.
[Lubbock forecast high keeps going up.]
