There are many more instances. In fact, the annoying 'Eater "woohed" at every ball thrown to an 'Eater batter and every strike thrown by an 'Eater pitcher. Folks on this board even claimed psychological damage to their pets by the offending 'Eater fan.

But looking ahead, I know that TTU is a great team, so what happened in the Big 12 tournament?

Sounds very familiar... TCU does the same "wooing." Doesn't matter if it's a conference series, midweek, post season play they have lots of fans on the "woo" train.. As far as the Big 12 tourney for TTU, TTU hardly ever does well in it. I kind of feel like it boils down to Tadlock being in the camp that the conference tournament doesn't really mean much in most years. You either get the auto bid but other than that once the tourney rolls around, there's not much jockeying for position. I think this year contradicts that some though, I honestly though if TTU went 0-2 or 1-2 maybe even 2-2 that would fall outside of a national seed. All TTU folks were confident we'd be hosting a regional, but I wasn't so sure about a super.

I'd like to know more about TTU's pitching staff, strengths and weaknesses.

Man... Where to start. TTU has had some significant losses in the pitching staff that started before the season even began. We lost Austin Becker and Hunter Dobbins prior to the season starting and both were projected to be #1 and #2 starters in the rotation. Two weeks into the season we lost Brandon Birdsell who had been bumped up to the #1 starter. So within a matter of weeks TTU lost its' entire starting pitching rotation.. We also lost Jakob Brustoski who was pegged to be TTU's #1 bullpen guy. (all Tommy John or season ending rotator injuries.)

Fast forward a little bit for most of the regular season Patrick Monteverde (94 K's in 82 innings), Micah Dallas (77 K's in 65 innings), and Mason Montgomery (84 K's in 63 innings) have been the weekend starters in that order. The ERA's between these guys are all in the "3." range, so not spectacular but could be worse. The best bullpen arms we have are Ryan Sublette, Brandon Girton, and Andrew Devine respectively. 

Tadlock did throw a curve ball last week in the regional and started Chase Hampton in game 1 who has been a midweek starter, but surprisingly pitched pretty well. Dallas didn't start and was leaned on heavily in the bullpen along with Sublette. I think Tadlock knows that TTU's pitching depth just isn't there (it's always been TTU's weakness) so he got a little creative to make sure he had two solid arms in the bullpen.. I'd honestly look for the same this weekend. I can see a Hampton, Monteverde, Montgomery with Dallas out of the bullpen or a Monteverde, Dallas, Montgomery rotation... Sorry that was a bit long, just wanted to give some insight. Overall, TTU starting pitching is pretty good but there just isn't much depth in the bullpen. Looking at TTU's 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019 trips to the CWS it's been clear to me TTU just doesn't quite have the pitching to win a natty at this point.

The preview isn't very knowledgeable about Stanford. The only real info on Tech is that the author expects them to stick to the same rotation they used during the regional: Chase Hampton- Patrick Monteverde- Mason Montgomery. Apparently they pitched well last weekend (and Tech cruised through their regional).

One thing that caught my eye was a note about "many" who felt Stanford should have been #8 seed above Tech with a defensive but obscure to non-Tech fans comment that,  "They did not win the Pac-12 but they finished in third, two and a half games back. Maybe if they would’ve been another half game back they would’ve gotten unnecessary hate from around the country too."
[Tech finished third in the Big 12, 3 games back of Texas and TCU tied.]

Check out www.stakingtheplains.com it's one of the best TTU sports blogs in my opinion. "Viva" to me has gone downhill in both content and the writers. STP is free and there are no paywalls. I don't know if they have a weekend preview up yet, but one will come and it's usually one of the most knowledgeable sites about opponents.. There are a few others like Red Raider Sports (Rivals) and 247Sports, but most content is blocked by paywalls..
