Of course, the CWS finals, if you make it there, are June 28, 29, and 30--so if Beck pitches the 25th and Williams the 26th, how many innings can they realistically give you in the finals?
You obviously can't do anything other than take it one game at a time and just try to survive, but the way the schedule sets up will have the effect of deemphasizing your top two starters for the CWS finals. Maybe you can ride your top two to get there, but you're going to have to use every arm you have in the finals.
Anyway, I realize that's the dilemma college baseball coaches always face, and it certainly rewards deeper teams, which is totally fine. Here's hoping for massive early leads!
