I noted this,
"Stanford is looking for its first title since 1988 when Hall-of-Famer Mike Mussina and the Card defeated Arizona State in the finals."

While Mussina, a frosh, was part of the starting rotation he only contributed to the defeat of Arizona State by cheering the team on from the dugout. The final game starter was Stan Spencer (also a frosh) closed by Steve Chitren.
