Our latest QB commit has 4 passing TDs and 2 Ints in his entire high school career, and we haven't exactly been on target with higher ranked recruits. Is this lack of top talent due to the lack of campus visits or bad on field record trend?
I think a lot has to do with the fact that Stanford has a type: tall, pocket passer who runs straight ahead when asked. Since that is becoming less the trend at the college and pro levels, there are fewer and fewer QBs of this ilk being groomed on the HS stage.
My son never considered going out for the team given his skill set and the kind of QB-unfriendly offense the Card runs.
