Can anyone make a credible case that QB recruiting is any more problematic than recruiting in general for Stanford Football?
Stanford is always behind the curve with everything it does in its football program as far as I can see. There is no innovation. There is no commitment to bring fresh ideas into the program with highly ambitious coaches that proactively innovate rather than creatively catch up.
Harbaugh gave the "Stanford is like the NFL" brand to the program and created an us against the world culture. Shaw embodies a much more privileged mindset that has devolved "Intellectual Brutality" to "Book Smart Slapping."
