Greg Clark may have died "too soon" and it might have been as a result of his football playing (and practicing), but we all have to die of something, some time. If someone dies young as a result of doing what they wanted and wouldn't trade it for anything else, they lived a more fulfilled life than some who lived much longer. Who am I to judge?
The football enterprise has to worry about whether other people are as forgiving as me on this issue, so has taken many steps to lessen the numbers of collisions a player experiences in the game since Clark played. still, it's frustrating there are no known markers for who is more susceptible to brain damage by cumulative hits than others. It leaves everyone in a situation they are rolling the dice to play contact sports like football, but we all make decisions to make bets or take risks with our lives in the quest for happiness and fulfillment all the time. Most of those choices don't end up in early death or misery, but others don't take any known risks only to suffer terrible life outcomes anyway too.
What a pathetic post…..
Why? Clearly, you disagree with something I said. I'd like to know what, specifically.
The thread was about the sad death of a young former Stanford football player. You turned it in to something about you and your pessimistic world view. But I should have kept my thoughts to myself.
