In fact, the entire Bay Area really doesn't care much about college sports. UCLA as a "brand" isn't big in football, and on a local level not too many students follow UCLA basketball, tradition or not. USC is a draw, but not a big one. The normal analysis is that USC draws when they are winning, but these days I don't even see that as a given. I don't expect a B1G PAC-12 semi-merger to work out. Too big geographically and worlds apart in focus.
