I haven't confirmed the 20yo male swimmer in the 50 Free Shane Cadogan of St. Vincent & Grenadines is a Stanford student (or accepted to enroll).  The NBC announcer indicated "He's out at Stanford".  He has won a national (academic) scholarship of his country.  His father helped start competitive swimming in his country by repairing a decrepit pool, the only one in the country.

If someone can confirm he is a Stanford student, then he should be added here & at GoStanford.com & Stanford Magazine.

He won the second heat at 24.71.  Not a contender, but an Olympian.

He has a profile on Stanford.edu ("undergraduate") and his instagram profile says "Stanford '23" so it appears that he's a current Stanford student (presumably headed into his junior year).

Shane Cadogan, 20, who is a student of Stanford University in the USA has been swimming since the tender age of 5. His swim clubs include Black Sands Swim Squad in SVG and Alto Swim Club in the USA.  

At the OECS Swimming Championships (SC) in 2014, (Boys 11 to 12) Cadogan won Gold in the 50m Breaststroke. At CISC (LC) in 2016 he won Bronze in the 50m Breaststroke (Boys 13 to 14).  

At the OECS Swimming Championships (SC) in 2017 he won Gold again in the 50m Breaststroke (Boys 15 to 17). At the CARIFTA (LC) in 2019, he won Bronze on the 50m Breaststroke (Boys 15 to 17).  

In 2019, he was a nominee for Junior Sportsman of the Year in the National Lottery Association Sports Award.  

He holds SVG’s National Records in the 50m and 100m Freestyle, the 50m and 200m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly and the 100m and 200m Individual Medley.
