well Shaw certainly did better in 2019 than the previous two years....
year base pay bonus and Incentives other (appears to be housing allowance) retirement & deferred comp non-tax benefits total comp
2019 $6.8m $1.4m $0.5m $0.2m $0.04m $8.9m
2018 $3.3m $0.6m $0.6m $0.3m $0.04m $4.8m
2017 $3.2m $0.6m $0.4m $0.4m $0.04m $4.6m
in each year his comp included $0.2m-$0.4m that had been deferred comp from previous years
in 2019 we went 4-8 so the bonus & incentives seems generous, but I do not know what they were for, but it seems not W-L record
even if you back out $2.2m in base pay in 2019 he still got a 40% base pay raise in 2019 ($3.3m to $4.6m), and while we were 9-4 in 2018 that seems like a big raise
I'm also skeptical that the endowment payout for his position (if it all needed to be paid out to him) more than doubled from 2018 to 2019, and if it does all have to be paid out what happens when the endowment has a bad year, would he get paid less?
