What is Stanford's figure?
I don't see it in this thread - was it in another?
Second lowest reported rate in the PAC-12 at 85%.
I’d like to see the rate go higher and suspect it will, especially because all Stanford students — athlete or not — are supposed to be vaccinated.
I’m also curious how various institutions get their numbers. Are teams counting one shot? Two? Two plus two weeks? Self-reported or verified? I could see Stanford not counting it until it’s two shots plus two weeks, and verified.
And given the rate of prevalence in Louisiana, and the rate of breakthrough infections, I could still see LSU having one of the higher infection rates in P5 football. And I still expect Stanford to once again deliver one of the best track records in terms of avoiding transmission within a team.
IIRC, the 85% figure was for the whole football program. But if the player percentage were higher, then I would have expected some reporting on that. I'm most curious about what grounds support a waiver of the university's requirement that students be vaccinated. I'm not interested in theory, I'd love to see actual examples of "Person X said/has )__, and that sufficed for the issuance of a waiver." Don't need names of students, but would be interested in waiver bases.
Not holding my breath on that one, though . . .
Still 85%. [tweet]https://twitter.com/StanfordSports/status/1430737667793190919?s=20[/tweet]
Looking at the university guidance on exemptions, the remaining 15% must have gotten them so don't think this number is going to go up at all. Pretty sad when you compare the team's rate to the rest of the conference.
