You could, in theory, continue that. Every year, the CA-Mountain pairup would be as follows:
Stanford/Cal get UofA/ASU
USC/UCLA get Colorado/Utah
This would enable us (and Cal) to pretend like we were still in the Pac-10, plus we would get to avoid Utah, which has been a bit our bugaboo since they joined.
