Sometimes you just have to look at bigger piece of territory from a higher altitude to get the most concise analyis: in this case, the general decline of the program as seen from the perspective of O-Line injuries and inferior play. This facet of the team was arguably most affected by the departure of, again, Shannon Turley. Tom FitzGerald, erstwhile SFChronicle beat writer many years for Stanford football, wrote a piece not long before leaving the paper in which he reported several NFL scouts who were shaking their heads at the physically weaker offensive linemen at Stanford compared to the players of the early 20-teens--the Big Bowl squads. There's a straight line between (a) the generic, vanilla S&C program Stanford evidently runs today in the absence of Turley and (b) the decline of the larger football program. Anybody who will not (or cannot) see this is a Mr. Magoo.
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
