Also correct on the sac flies. Charged as an at bat. Strange that there was a short period with this rule. Ted's manager Joe Cronin estimated 14 0r 15. So he really hit .419 or .420. People criticize Williams' approach of taking close pitches but most of the previous .400 plus averages were made by non-power hitters. Williams hit many balls off walls and over them. IMO the greatest hitter ever and a character in a sport overwhelmed by bland personalities.
