A couple more observations now that I have scrutinized the stat sheet.
Anna Wilson at point guard--3 assists and 2 turnovers. At least a couple of those assists were spectacular. The turnovers came in the second half when it seemed to me she was trying to do too much. That is just a matter of experience. Clearly the vision and the physical skills are there. But I cannot stress enough how important it was that she hit those treys. We know from Marta Sniezek what happens to us when we run a "pure point guard" onto the floor who is not enough of an offensive threat. And we know that Wilson has been streaky on offense but consistent on defense. For her to give us what we need, she has to hit her shot enough to force all opposing teams to come to the perimeter to defend her. So far she has checked that box.
Prechtel and Iriafan each had 3 assists--as many as Wilson. The Princeton is working when bigs get assists. Clearly it was working yesterday.
41% three point shooting as a team. Granted, it was against inferior competition, but there are teams that can't shoot 41% in practice. This bodes well.
Scouting report defense. Clarke's top two scorers were held to 2 points and 4 points. They did get 13 points from a different player. But clearly our defense locked onto the scouting report and shut down their top two. Easy enough to do given the physical mismatch, but it is nice to see that our team executed the scouting report.
