I don't really know but I think the zone was pretty uniform. From the mound I believe that the local Bay Area umps had a pretty consistent zone. I think that the old zone in MLB was pretty uniform too. Center field cameras were in use for Game of the Week mid Sixties. For years all the Giants games that were locally broadcast were the Dodgers and .. the Dodgers. There was a riot directed at the Potrero Hill police station on Third Street in 1967 and the Giants arranged a telecast of a road game the next night (Braves). The C T was that people would watch a novelty game and not go out to toss Molotoff cocktails. As more and more games came to TV more and more CF cameras were utilized. I don't remember any crusade over balls and strikes even with the increased exposure to clear shot of the strike zone.
