I was at the Leavey Center as a member of the Sixth Man Club when Stanford got clipped by Santa Clara in 2004-05. I got home to see a post on the old HoopsBoard, referring to then-head-coach Trent Johnson as "another Buddy Teevens". That thread, as I recall, set off a bit of a row. They weren't wrong though. They were just two coaches ahead of their time.
The bus ride back to Stanford, I still remember how quiet (and dark) it was. That bus was quiet AF, but at least it was almost full. I can't imagine that will be the case tonight.
