Moving up the LOI window altered a lot of things about recruiting, and this coaching instability even before the season is over seems to be just another item on the list.

I totally agree.  Honestly, I don’t see why LOI day isn’t in the spring, close to when regular admissions go out.

The date is in December because of the the growing and growing number of "student-athletes" who enroll in January to uh, get a jump on their studies. 

In all seriousness, I am very thankful that Stanford *finally* is allowing that to happen as well.
