Thanks for sharing this interesting data. I did wonder whether there might be something there, like I wonder if certain schools paid so much heed to the pandemic (going virtual, closing campuses, etc) and other schools did not (never closed, kept training/playing/practicing at 100% despite risks to players and communities). But then 2021 comes along and group #2 (all practices, all games) comes along and knocks the block of group #1 (shelter in place, do drills at home, shortened 2020 season).
So 2022 hopefully offers a chance for the academic schools to catch up.
How did the best public schools do (just took these from USNWR Top 10 public schools. Wisconsin, tOSU, Georgia barely missed out)?
Georgia Tech, 3-9
Washington, 4-8
California, 5-7
Texas, 5-7
Virginia, 6-6
Florida, 6-6 (it's on the list)
North Carolina, 6-6
UCLA, 8-4
Michigan, highly successful, 12-1
