Fingers crossed! I am less surprised only in the sense that Haase has actually had a pretty good record of shipping guys off to the NBA, and for someone like Carlyle, I assume his top goal is to play for a year (or maybe two) and then go pro. The chance at a college title is always less than certain, even for a defending champ, but the 40 year decision is something he can always fall back on. Still, I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't end up at Baylor.

Williams had a short, COVID-marred, and lackluster career at Stanford.  Did Haase make him a lottery pick, or did he already have the talent/potential coming into Stanford?  

Haase has coached two other NBA players -- Terry and Okpala -- but both were second round picks.  He also coached several other highly rated recruits at Stanford who transferred out and don't seem likely to make the NBA (Travis, Ryan, and Davis).  

That track record doesn't strike me as being that great, but I'll acknowledge that it's incredibly difficult for college players to make the pros, so I'm curious whether others here think that Haase has been good at developing talent for the pros.

Davis and Reid were grad transfers so they don't really count against a coaches "transfer record". Ryan on the other hand is a transfer. So, one transfer during Haase time at Stanford is not bad at all. Tbh Ryan isn't even doing that good at Notre Dame coming off the bench. He listed playing in a more uptempo offense and more pt for the reasons of his transfer but Notre Dame runs a veeery slow offense and not a lot of action. 

The three players that were drafted are still in the league which is great and Ingram will definitely be drafted if he enters this year or next year (I hope he stays one extra year to develop some more). Terry is having some off the court issues so I'm not sure which team will pick him up after his 10-day contract with Memphis. Okpala has been a steady bench player for Miami his whole career. Btw KZ was #44 out of high school and he's doing good in the NBA. 

You have to give Terry and Okpala some credit for being second round picks and still being in the league. How many first round picks from their draft classes are listed on a roster? 

Also, if a 5 star recruit comes to Stanford he knows he'll be the focal point of the offense and be starting from day one instead of heading to a loaded Duke team where he might be coming off the bench for 10 min a game.
