I've been reading the Gonzaga WBB boards.

Not a lot of insightful information there, except:

1) One fan posted "Cudos to Stanford leadership for being proactive and protecting their student athletics.  Hope the Gonzaga President and Director of Athletics follow suit and protect the Gonzaga student athletes."

2) There are some fans there who clearly admire Tara and are critical of their own coach.  They allege Lisa Fortier plays less talented seniors and juniors over more talented freshmen and sophomores.  "The fact that Coach Fortier is extensively tweaking the lineup week to week this far into the schedule is a telling sign. She has yet to find an upperclassman dominated lineup that consistently brings a complete game to the court. When she occasionally puts together a group of five that excel, she inexplicably begins subbing players in and out, disrupting the flow. The loss to Cal Davis has to be the most disheartening fourth quarter collapse in the last two decades (at least) of Zag women's basketball, right up there w/the men's 2006 disaster vs UCLA."

3) Their board discusses their players using their first names.

4) They think Stanford has nothing to gain and everything to lose by scheduling this game.

I use the word "they" liberally.  Not clear there more than a handful of posters there.  Perhaps there is a better site for their fans.

I take all this with a shaker of salt. Lisa Fortier has shown she can beat us, and seems to be to be an excellent coach. She is 188-50 as a head coach.
