My brother and I had a conversation about this the other day. I saw a map of the flooded regions, with depths given.
The worst, of course, was in the valley east of the delta. Many spots had from ten to twenty feet. The lower valley ranged from a couple of feet to about eight feet.
One man supposedly rowed a boat from Bakersfield to San Francisco. Don't know it that was true, but the map showed that it could be done.
