1.  Of course it matters why Stanford players are entering the portal.  Do you really believe there is no difference between a player who has his degree and just wants some PT on the field, any field, for one final attempt at gridiron glory versus a starter who enters the portal because he thinks the program is going nowhere and is no fun anymore?

2.  "Stanford players will be coveted transfers for almost any program."  Really?  What in the world do you base that on?  And if true, isn't that MORE alarming?  That really coveted players with eligibility are bailing on Stanford University (and Stanford football) to play elsewhere?

If you're specifically discussing #2 re Jones & Peat, they both already have P5 offers and are clearly coveted. Which is obviously alarming. 

If discussing #2 re all our transfers, R. Johnson and A. Fox (and possibly more) have P5 transfer offers, Heimuli is going to BYU, and even Trey LaBounty has a G5 offer (forget where). Though now we're sorta mixing #1 and #2 with the grad transfers and the definition of "almost any program" (obviously incorrect), and I can't for the life of me understand why a couple of them have the offers they do.
