Your interpretation of my premise is incorrect. How a college would rank applicants is mostly immaterial: random numbers or reverse alphabetical order by their names spelled alphabetically or whatever.
Should money or athletics be valid criteria for bumping another applicant out in order for this one to be admitted. If acceptance is supposed to be blind to ability to pay, should it also be blind to ability to play?
