I'm a lifetime KC fan, so apologies to the Bills-Allen supporters, but that was the most amazing two minutes of playoff football that I've ever seen. Both defenses were gassed/outmanned, which I expected from KC but not Buffalo. I thought that Hill might get a taunting penalty as he was scoring on that long TD pass with under a minute to go. Actually, that might have worked in the Chiefs favor, because they would have had the ball around the 20 with all three timeouts, so they would have been able to hold onto the ball until time ran out. And short of a TO, Buffalo's defense was not going to be able to stop them.
When I was growing up the Chiefs had Len Dawson at QB, Mike Garrett then Ed Podolak at RB, Otis Taylor at WR and Hank Stram as coach, of course. But even with the win over Joe Kapp and the Vikings in Super Bowl IV (one of my earliest sports memories), the Mahomes era is other worldly.
My wife and her side of the family are northern California/Niners fans, so we're excited about the possibility of a Super Bowl rematch.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
