I'm not in any way, shape, or form a Shaw apologist, but it seems to me offers come in different categories for all schools, and Stanford being Stanford, there are more categories than most schools.

- There are recruits everyone wants that Stanford throws its hat in the ring for, as a shot in the dark
- There are recruits Stanford feels are realistic possibilities it wants to see a little more from academically before offering
- There are recruits Stanford invites to camps that impress and earn offers
- There are emergency Plan B and C offers after camps are over and top possibilities are off the board

My guess is Rashada falls into the second category listed above because some grades came in and/or Stanford heard he is planning to take AP classes.

Yeah, some people seem to want to jump to the conclusion in every situation like this that Shaw screwed the pooch and this is one more piece of evidence that he is a lazy recruiter.

I don't think you have to be a Shaw apologist to suspect that there might be other reasons such as academics. From what I understand a 4.0 doesn't mean all that much unless it includes some AP courses. I also don't think you can take the GPA that some recruits report on the internet totally at face value.
