Yikes, her answer was pretty terrible. Would hope sports journalists would just keep asking only about that until she actually answers. Wonder when we'll get some clarity.

Why is clarity important to us? Why does she have to answer? It's her life. 

Wondering how many people here hold dual citizenships. I get that China doesn't typically allow it, but there are always exceptions.  As for every Chinese athlete renouncing their former country's citizenship, wasn't there a post earlier that stated that didn't appear to be the case?

Yeah, as already pointed out, if Jieke's only chance at an Olympics roster is with China, that's a much different situation than Gu's. Jieke is also not a big star getting tens of millions of dollars in promotional $$$ from Chinese companies. So the situations aren't really comparable.

Gu doesn't personally owe me shit. But I don't understand why you think she is beyond criticism.... we're on a sports message board, that's what happens here.
